Sony BD S500 or Panasonic BD30K? I dunno.

Is profilre 1.1 really worth?

Definitly panny 30!!! Don't bother with a player that can't do dts master audio yet.

I am going to import it, so if the player arrive and not work properly I´ll not be able to anything other than cry and blame myself.

Do you know if the panny does not have hardware issues?

I went from the sony 300 to the panny 30 and not one single issue runs smooth right out of the box.

The only players that I'm hearing of having wide-spread problems are from Samsung (no offense, just pointing it out), so you should be fine, and I agree, get a player that's profile 1.1 if it's you first, or if you don't have one that is yet. Anything else is selling yourself short at this point...

Right now the BD30 is just a better value all around. The S500 is not worth the extra $200 even though it is a very nice looking player, but it is slow to load discs, isn't profile 1.1 capable and on top of all that can't even bitstream DTS-HD MA. Go with the Panny.

Is that a way of changing the DVD region zone? I mean to play other than "1" .. is there a code or anything to change it?

I recommend the Panny. It is currently the best standalone blu-ray player on the market and it is profile 1.1. If I were you I would purchase a bluray player that has at least profile 1.1.
