United Kingdom Watchmen Directors Cut For UK?

Maybe I'm missing something, but I've been on Amazon and Play only to find the standard 2-disc set for Watchmen coming out with no signs of the directors cut coming. Does anyone know if we will eventually see it or will I have to get a Blu-Ray Player that is region-free?

Paramount has not made any plans to release the Directors Cut internationally yet. But the Warner Bros. release will most likely be region free.

Seeing that Warner Bros have yet to lock anything, I would say you're safe importing the DC from the US.

Oh I hope so, the blu-ray.com page says Region A only for now. I guess we'll know when it comes out...

Try dvdworldusa or movietyme or axelmusic.

I believe all those sights are shipping around now.

I won't for the time being. Why don't you just get the US version ? It's region free (confirmed by bluraylies just check them out)

Just import the U.S. release. It might be a while before the UK gets the Director's Cut.

I recieved my Directors Cut Watchmen disc from the US today, it only took 5 days to arrive which was quicker than I expected.

My only complaint is that the digital copy wont work because it requires a US/Canada iTunes account. Is there any way round this? As I really would like to be able to transfer a copy of the film onto my iPhone.

I think they list all their blu-rays as region 1 to cover themselves from incompatability issues.

That I think is right. They never open and test the disks them selves.

Play also ship from canada so you will have to watch out when buying the disk.

If the publisher is the same in the US publishing (e.g sony in US and canada) they will use the exact US disk so we don't have to worry.

But some of the releases are done by Alliance. One example is righteous kill. In the US it was region free and published by Anchor Bay in canada it was published by alliance and region locked.

So when buying from playusa you have to check the publisher first.

My DC was waiting for me when I got back from work this evening.
Viewed a few mins of film and the Max Movie Mode and all was fine.
