Dunno - I have season 2 Disc 1 sitting here on my desk. I did not get a chance to watch it yet though. It's a rental.

EDIT: It seems maybe it was released in Canada 1st. It is in stock at amazon.ca but not until July 28 at amazon.com.

I didn't know about Children of Earth until seeing it on the beginning of S2 D1 on Blu-ray. Now I'll have to buy that. It seems to be coming out in 2-3 weeks on Blu-ray.

Well I'll reply myself (maybe i'm the only one who has it yet)...

The PQ is ok but not really anything noticeably better than what I saw on HDNET where I watched all of season 1 and some of season 2.

The AQ is good step up though.

I got Season 3 on order; I just wish Season 2 weren't so expensive. (Then, again, I wish BSG the Series wasn't so expensive or Smallville when they first release a season.)

I did think that Season 1's Blu-ray PQ was far, far better than the DVD set's PQ (which I gave away after getting the Blu-ray).

I'm sure it's way better than anything SD. I have only ever seen Torchwood in HD though. With my cable company, HDNET broadcasts look quite good. They are not compressed like crazy which happens on some other HD channels.

Picked this up tuesday @ Best Buy for $22.99. The PQ is kind of mediocre in the eps I've watched so far, but like what was stated already, the AQ is really impressive.

$22.99? It's $69.99 on their web site, and it releases on the 28th.

I have this pre-ordered @ Amazon, but reading the reviews I might wait until its cheaper than $56.00. Seeing Freema Agyeman in HD is quite an incentive for me!

From what I understand, it was shot in 1080i digital HD, so that might be why the blus are 1080i... and to Zen_Amako, yep $22.99!

Sounds like they accidentally assigned the price of 'Torchwood: Children of Earth' to 'Torchwood: Season Two.' Both titles release on the same day so it's quite possible the two will get mixed up at some stores. Just make sure you aren't paying 'Season Two' prices for 'Children of Earth'

Actually (no offense intended here whatsoever), are you sure you don't have the 2-disc, 5-episode Blu-ray release of 'Torchwood: Children of Earth?' Again, not to question your ability to look at a cover or know what you're buying, but it would be all too easy for anyone to make a mistake like that

I might need to stop in at Best Buy tomorrow just to see. I liked Doctor Who with David Tennant so I think I might like Torchwood.

Torchwood and Doctor Who have totally different subject matters. Torchwood is definitely for adults while Doctor Who is more kid-friendly.
