I'm surprised there's not a topic for this. IMO this is one of the 10 best horror movies of the 00s. Very exciting news, especially considering there's still no US release for this movie on the horizon. This was one of the last DVDs I still needed an upgrade for.

I had never heard of this movie but after looking it up this might just be a blind buy.

The Woman was quite an impressive film, the only film I'm actually scared to rewatch. I'm going to blind buy May based on that, haven't seen any other McKee movies.

Not sure whether to get the Limited Edition, though. I don't care about art cards - never know what to do with them e.g. use them somewhere else and the "collectable" loses value, keep them in the box and they're useless.

Out of the ones that I've watched, May is his best film by far, so I would say that it's a safe blind buy.

Red is also great, although McKee left before it was finished. Like The Woman, it's another adaptation of a Jack Ketchum novel, only Red is not a horror film, but a drama with a great performance from Brian Cox. It's available on Blu-ray in Italy.

The Woods is more lighthearted, but also fun, with another good lead performance, this time from Agnes Bruckner, and also featuring Bruce Campbell. There are a few Blu-ray releases, including one from Germany that I don't see listed on this site.

For what it's worth, I didn't care for The Woman when it came out, although I'm sure I'll revisit it at some point.

Jeremy Sisto is pretty good as well, and there's also James Duval (the bunny suit guy from Donnie Darko) in a small role.

This is such a great, weird a$$, horror flick. I'll probably triple dip (DVD, blu-ray, blu-ray... again ), as long as it improves on the German BD of course.

This 2002 film arrives on Blu-ray from Second Sight looking as new as ever with hardly any source damage and a crisp, thin layer of natural grain. Wish I could see some caps, but no trace of the movie at all on Caps-a-holic. The German Blu looks fine, and the cover is way better than the re-imagined SS one. Not to mention, much cheaper than the SS, for those who still don't own it

Huh... I don't know, I've given the German BD a spin, and judging by those caps I don't see the SS disc improving on that one (which was already quite good), although a direct caps comparison between the two releases would help.
If I had the timestamps, I might get the corresponding caps from the German release.

I took a few caps of the 2019 German BD (indoor, outdoor, close-ups, normal light, low light...).
I think it looks really good, not sure the SS is the better choice, also factoring price + cover.

They look identical. The SS is a tad brighter and has a different framing in that the picture has been cut both on top and bottom.
