I'll blind buy it for around $25 or less, but Paramount can go to hell if they think I am paying more than $30 or subscribing to CBS' shitty streaming service.

Happy it's on Blu-ray, but not thrilled such a new big-budget series isn't getting 4K - though it's hardly alone in that. Discovery hasn't gone 4K Blu-ray either, among many others like the HBO Watchmen limited series.

Discovery didn't get 4K releases, why would they start now? We should be thankful CBS/Paramount releases their shows on physical media, specifically BD, at all.

Plus, only WB shows, with the exception being Stranger Things, have been released on 4K.

I wonder if Discovery and Picard will come to 4K once the series are complete. That could be cool.

I highly doubt it. Voyager and Deep Space Nine are not even on BD yet.

Putting Discovery and Picard on 4k would be a breeze compared to putting those on BD though.

I will definitely pick this up when it's released. I got the BDs for both seasons of Discovery. I grew up with syndicated TOS reruns on WZTV Fox 17 out of Nashville, and over the years Star Trek has brought me a ton of joy relative to a few let downs. So, if I can continue to support the franchise with "yet another physical media purchase," then I'm game. I have TOS remastered on DVD and Blu-ray; I have all the feature films in their original 2 disc DVD collector's/director's editions, the remastered DVD releases of the theatrical cuts, and the Blu-ray releases. And, finally, I have TNG on Blu-ray, which I am finally on season 7 of watching them in HD for the first time. There are very few franchises that have brought me as much joy as Star Trek, so I will support it w/out question. Plus, Patrick Stewart is a joy to watch.

Day one purchase (when the UK release comes...). No surprise that it's not getting a 4K, wasn't expecting one. Hope for some good bonus features.

Also glad to see this release. After just watching it a couple of weeks ago, I can wait for a sale. Maybe Amazon UK will have release by the time they ship to the US.
