Los Angeles (CA) - Blu-ray Disc movies took four of the seven competitive categories presented at the High-Def Disc Awards, including the "high-def title of the year".

Despite being released on both HD DVD and Blu-ray, it was the Blu-ray version of Warner's epic 300 that nabbed the top prize.

However, the HD DVD version of the movie won the award for best bonus feature with its picture-in-picture technology. HD DVD also took the award for best audio quality with Transformers, and the U-Shop feature, which gives users access to online stores directly from the HD DVD disc, won "most innovative use of new technology".

Blu-ray Disc won all the other categories, which were best animated release (Ratatouille), best picture quality (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest), and best long-form music video (Dave Mathews & Tim Reynolds: Live at Radio City Music Hall).

The awards were presented at High-def 2.0, a conference on HD technologies held in Los Angeles. http://www.tgdaily.com/content/view/35263/98/
