Default About that "Independant Research"...

That found out that HD DVD was likely to win because HDTV service subscribers were more likely to buy HD DVD than Blu Ray.

Can't tell exactly why, but something in their press release (reported abundantly, by Engadgethd among others), something felt fishy.
No report of their methodology, or how they got the data in the first place except "from 2000 Broadband users". It's because they want you to buy the report of course

Here is the blurb they spout out recently:

I just looked a bit around, and for a "Market Research" agency that touts its Independancy, I found interesting to see this:

They started by saying Blockbuster made a mistake in going Blu exclusive:

Then, they participate in the HD DVD Media pannel no less !
http://www.tdgresearch.com/TDG_Opini...Format_War.htm

Last, it seems they even pulled out the report they base their latest press release (the HDTV user one) on...

Interesting I think. Specially when you think that this December press release is based on data that's more than 6 months old, but they felt it was urgent to let people know their opinion on this at the Holiday season
