Default UHD 4K blu rays - Where to discuss?

http://www.zavvi.com/elysium.search?search=uhd+player

Noticed these on Zavvi.com. Wanted to talk about them but believe there isn't an actual right place to discuss them.

Shall I discuss them in the UK blu ray forum?

Those are not UHD Blu-rays. The UHD content can only be found on that USB-stick.

I also asked to add UHD forums. See my quote:

UHD is around the corner and FOX has a handful titles ready.

New announced: Independence Day (1996) (REMASTERED) UHD/BD coming in 2016

so the ones in the TS link are a remastered in 4k standard BD and the stick has the UHD content? If so, that is very cheap high GB content stick, plus a bd! EIT: Was reading the reviews on amazon.com seems the stick has a crappy quality content, less than the BD so I guess it is a small gb stick.

Update: where should we place the forum? Under Movies, Blu-ray? Do you want to discuss mostly 4K/UHD movies or hardware as well?

I think the discs should have their own forum under the Movies forum, like Ultra High-Definition Blu-ray - North America, Ultra High-Definition Blu-ray - International, et cetera and a new tab for players under Blu-ray Players and Recorders.

|I'm not sure if the UHDBD tab should be on the page, probably before Blu-ray, but that would make me sad ...

I think that would be way too fractioned, then we would have 10+ UHD subforums for all regional forums and most would be more or less unused.

To encourage discussion it would probably be best to start with one UHD forum, and then maybe movie the discussions to the existing forums, but label the titles properly, for example "The Dark Knight UHD" or similar once there are a good amount of releases.

I did think of that, but having a US section and an International section might be less confusing, then all the separate release could have the little flags next to them in the International side, so people wouldn't be confused further.

But as you said it might be best to keep everything together, then expand if the format takes off.

Separate topics created for the known upcoming titles. Check them out.

Thanks for adding the new UHD forums.

My opinion would be I would wait not jump on the 4K bandwagon yet.
HDR might over run the 4K hype. Even Sony the company who where pushing 4K then anybody else admits that if you have 65” TV you have to be closer then six feet to see a difference with 4K.
The perception to sharpness is always being about contrast more then about resolution.

Comcast is saying they are more interested in High Dynamic Range then we are in 4K because thats what the consumer can see.

And isn't Comcast the owner of NBCUniversal and Universal Studios?
We might see turn in the next few months.

How about prefixes for thread titles where one can select UDH, UDH bd, bd, dvd, etc. I think it would work good for at least the deals sub forum.

A single UHD forum would suffice for now.

Just look at the steelbook forum, that manages perfectly well and includes releases from all around the world.

All we need is to make it clear that when a topic is started then the country flag should be used to designate which region release we are talking about.

UHD is going to be very niche for the first few years, so I think one forum should be fine.
