Help choosing speaker - Blu-ray Forum

i am planning to purchase speaker, but I would like to ask for suggestion. Currently, the only products that interest me are (both 7.1):

My question: is this compatible with BD's PCM and DTS-HD 7.1? (My main BD player is my laptop and I am going to connect these speakers directly to my laptop. It has 4 audio ports

In your opinion, is this speaker a great choice? Can you suggest other models?

The gigaworks are better, and they are worth it. I am using the gigaworks system and love it for my computer set up.

I am not up to date on if it can handle the DTS-HD. That is not an issue of speakers, but rather an issue of your sound card, and what it can decode.

well my laptop has integrated soundcard that can output 7.1, but I am unclear of what kind of 7.1 (DTS or dolby, etc). It has 4 ports, each to front, rear, centre, and sub.

Any Sony alternative? (I prefer Sony brand above all other)
