Absolutely outstanding film. Great performances by everyone. An intriguing story, a nice romance, and well-handled humor. Highly recommended. It's too bad though that they don't feel this should get a wide retail release. This got a wide release back in the days of DVD. The same fans who bought it then are still fans, so...

Anyways, glad it's getting a release. I was wondering if this was ever going to happen.

I suspect the upcoming TV series is the reason we're getting it on BD at all. I'm grateful that the series exists for that reason, and that reason alone, judging from the dreadful trailer:

Written and directed by Nicholas Meyer, who or course directed WRATH OF KHAN. This is an excellent film with a terrific script full of social satire and critique. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

I told a friend I was happy for the series is that I was expecting a tie-in release of this.
