Default Landry P's Upgraded Set-Up

Hello folks. The last month has been very exciting for me, I have spent several months researching, chatting with forum members, and preparing to upgrade my home theater set-up. With the help and knowledge of some of the blu-ray.com vets. I have came a long way from the set-up I had a few years ago to what I have now. I would really appreciate any suggestion or ideas that can help me improve the overall look and performance of my set-up. Be straight forward, and it will help me get better. All suggestions welcome.

Thanks

Landry

By the way, the only other upgrade that I have up my sleeve is adding an XPA-2 for the front L/R speakers. Also much later on another PB-12 Plus subwoofer.

About time you start your own thread landry! I love the room and the red furniture. You have a ton of blus too! I already know how you feel about the sub and I am digging those Polks as well. When you put the surrounds up, did you consider using the monopoles as side surrounds and the FXiA3's as rear surrounds to get a better enveloping sound. I understand if you simply didn't want to considering how little use the bipoles would get as rear surrounds with so few 7.1 blu's out there.

Yeah I considered that because some 7.1 movies don't have very strong signals from the rear surrounds. Would the FXi3's possibly sound better in the rear?

Yes, they should. The wide dispersement from the 2 bipoles should create a more enveloping sound field, thus engrossing you that much more within the ambient sounds. Monopoles do a decent job as side surrounds....usually better than when used as rear surrounds.

Read this sticky from Big Daddy about bipole, dipole and monopole locations...

Are you not using the XPA-3 for the front L/C/R?
