Lucy Hale to star in indie comedy ‘Dude’ - Blu-ray Forum

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale is in talks to take a leading role in Dude, a comedy written and to be directed by Olivia Milch that begins shooting at month’s end in Los Angeles. The pic is a comedy about four best girlfriends in the last two weeks of their senior year of high school. It’s about dealing with the first real losses in life — leaving your best friends, your first encounter with death, and the loss of time. It is about that odd mixture of grief and nostalgia experienced by young people as they try to understand these losses. It is also about getting stoned with your friends in your car while listening to hip-hop.

Hale will play Lily, a popular high school senior bound for NYU in the fall who knows she is good-looking and flaunts it accordingly. Very assertive and a control freak, Lily struggles to delegate even the smallest prom-related responsibilities. The glue of the group, she values her best friends over everything else – even more than her beloved bong.

Heather Rae, Langley Perer, Jimmy Miller, Andrew Duncan and Jen Isaacson are producing.

If you think 26 year-old Lucy Hale playing a teen is bad, her PLL co-star 30 year-old Troian Bellisario is starring in a movie she wrote where she plays an 18 year-old.

Lucy can pull it off better, IMO. Anyways, I don't see the problem. She looks young and I can definitely see her in the role.

Sounds like this will be either a really good, very funny movie, or it will be a complete disaster. There's very little middle ground in these types of films. I hope it's the former.

Yep. Out of all the Netflix movies I've seen, The Outsider is the best, and that's not saying much.

Extremely so, unfortunately.

I really like Lucy a lot, but she is just not in much (beyond Pretty Little Liars) that's worth watching.

In the defense of Netflix, all their trailers are bad. Weird cuts, weird tones and very vague. Despite that fact, they did make some good movies. With bad trailers too.
