King of New York 4K UHD (1990) Lionsgate Limited

Lionsgate Limited will be releasing Abel Ferrara's King of New York (1990) on 4K. Like other LL releases, this will likely only be available as a Steelbook.

Update/ Replacement Disc Info: Lionsgate Limited has created a replacement program for this release which corrects to poor 5.1 track (see quote from sbjork below for the issue)

It almost seems like the rear L/R was swapped with the front L/R, except that sounds that would have been in the front aren't necessarily in the rear. In any event, effects like gunfire are muffled and muted. The 2.0 Dolby Stereo/SR track is fine, though, and I actually prefer it to the 5.1 remix anyway, even on Arrow's previous UHD release where the 5.1 wasn't messed up. So it's no big deal to me because I always opt for the 2.0, but YMMV.

lol.... I won't pay $35 for any release! $20 is my standard, $25 on occasion... and that's it.

I'm not going back to early 90's laserdisc days....

Yep, it happens. They're pushing 'You're Next" now. I have the Second Sight version, purchased for thirty bucks. I order stuff like the "Den of Thieves" steels since they're first outta the gate with those though.

It's great and I watch it almost endlessly. Christopher Walken and Laurence Fishburne have rarely been better than they are here.

My favourite Ferrara but I've already got the Arrow 4K, so can't see this being an improvement on that. Glad that this new release will introduce more people to a fantastic film though.
