Default Problems with playing early Blu-ray releases?

Maybe, someone else has had this problem. I tried to watch my copy of Speed the other day that I bought in 2009. For some reason, it now doesn't work not any of my players. Any ideas? Thanks!

i have read about lionsgate discs no longer working not sure about the disc you are playing
try turn off bd-live, disconnect player from the internet
clean disc, also try turning off 24fps
if you are using a very old player you may have to add a usb memory stick to it

Tried it on my PS3 and two newer players. Zero activity on all of them. I'll try the USB stick although with some of the other titles I've done that on(THX), it at least brought up the load bar first. Thanks.

Could be disc rot. My poor French Silent Hill went belly up. My Lionsgate Saw II and Saw IV went. And my German Tucker & Dale Vs Evil was spazzing. UGH. Never had this problem with DVDs.

Shit. That pisses me off. Never had that problem with DVDs. Weird that it happens with blu. That has to be the problem. Does the disc still look perfect when this happens?

DVD rot was actually more common, and it was still super rare. One of my ER season set discs has rot. Anyway, this might not be rot, it could be a ton of weird things. Speed works fine on my Sony player.

My PS3 won't play transparent Universal discs and a few Warner titles. PS4 will play those titles without issue. All this disc rot talk has me nervous though. I hope there's nothing rotting on my shelf unknown until the day I decide to rewatch it.

That sounds like a Laser alignment issue. Backwards compatible PS3's often had this issue after significant use. I've already had the laser replaced in 2 separate units that each had this problem. Once the laser was replaced it has worked perfectly since. Hundreds if not thousands of hours of use. Something to consider if you run into further problems down the road.
