I've only seen this film once, when the DVD was released. I can't say I enjoyed it much. I just recall loving Waiting and Best in Show a lot.. but maybe I will like it more now that some time has passed.

Looks like the Blu will include most of the bonus material from the DVD. No mention of the theatrical trailer, or the musician bios, though.

Love this movie. It's not as good as Waiting for Guffman, but I prefer it to Best in Show. Would love to have all 3 on Blu Ray!

I wonder if Warner Archive could do a triple feature with a general-release Warner Blu-ray so you could get Waiting For Guffman, Best in Show, and A Mighty Wind all together.

Love this film, my fave of the Guest satirical cycle. What really needs to happen is a BD set containing:

THIS IS SPINAL TAP
WAITING FOR GUFFMAN
BEST IN SHOW
A MIGHTY WIND
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

Not sure of the rights issues there, though.

Also, Mr. Guest & Co. have a new one in the works: MASCOTS.

Somehow I missed this announcement and was shocked when I accidentally stumbled upon the preorder on Amazon a few minutes ago. What fantastic news that this is getting a release! Hopefully a Guffman release isn't too far down the pipe.

Good news on A Mighty Wind. I am puzzled by the general lack of regard for "For Your Consideration" though. That was a hilarious movie and just as smart as any Guest film. Yes, it had an edge and some nastiness. So what? All of Guest's films had that. I still can't figure out why the hate for his final movie to date? Anyway, hopefully all his others will follow. They're great films and really help lighten the blues when the blues are in town.
