Default Plasma TV

I was thinking about buying a plasma tv online but someone told me that it is difficult to ship plasma tvs and if they don't ship it rightside up, it will get damaged. Is this true? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are always shipping issues with things that are heavy, bulky and fragile. How do you think the stores get their plasma screens?

I've had plasma screens shipped for installations all over the world, properly packaged, they ship fine.

Just get it from a reputable place that will replace it if it DOAs.

It's a nonissue. Plasmas, like any other display device, are shipped everywhere with few problems. My Pioneer was shipped to me five years ago, no problem, and I'm sure packing and service have only improved since then.

I got my Plasma just a few months ago. I ordered it from a online store on Ebay. I have had no problem with it at all, it was shipped by DHL or something like that. The packaging from Panasonic made it where to it was upright and easy to handle. Not to mention I got it alot cheaper than in a store. The name of it is dealsouthonline. At the website I got the TV and 3 year warranty for the price of the same tv at bestbuy before the taxes they charge. That's a few hundred dollars savings.

Forgot, I also had 24 hours to make sure it wasn't damaged. If it was they would replace it.

If the plasma tv laid flat on its back for a long period of time , would it have any side effects on the tv?
