Can't wait to see this one!

According to an article over at The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has plans to bring the 2009 Peter Jackson directed film “The Lovely Bones” to Blu-ray Disc on April 20th. The film stars Rachel Weisz and Mark Wahlberg and received mixed reviews in its theatrical run as well as carries a decent 6.7 average rating over at IMDb currently. Bonus materials are detailed below (taken from the PRESS RELEASE just received).

The Blu-ray includes the following special feature:

* Filming The Lovely Bones—An extensive production diary in 15 segments hosted by Peter Jackson and Philippa Boyens that follows the film’s shoot and post-production work on the visual effects.

Tech specs include full 1080p Hi-Def video and DTS-HD 5.1 Master Audio. The title is already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with a $33.99 price tag.

Critics bashed this as did fans of the book, but i think it was pretty good 7/10 i will buy when it hits $15.

This movie along with Amelia was probably the biggest flop of the year in terms of going from lots of early oscar buzz to ultimately being panned by the critics and ignored by the general public.

It's pretty to look at sometimes, but not much else.

I haven't read the book but I've been interested in the film since I saw the trailer. Peter Jackson is my favorite director and his films are quite diverse (compare Dead Alive to Heavenly Creatures to Lord of the Rings). I definitely wanna check this out in April.

The in-between will look really good on Blu thanks to the fact thats its almost all CGI.

I loved the movie ... this is a first day purchase for me!!!
Now as a fan of the book as well, the movie is missing tons and tons of material. It worked on film but it distanced itself from the book so much, very much like "My Sister's Keeper" did. Two different stories.

I didn't know it was based on a book, good to know. I will wait to see a review before deciding, it looks good though.

I really loved this movie, haven't read the book. But defintly Day One for me!!!! Excellent movie and I bet it will look amazing on Blu = )

I thought this movie sucked so bad. It was an overly sentimental crap and it went nowhere as a story. Very boring.

I wanted to see this but the SRP is $40.99...too rich for my budget.

Even the AMZ early price is $33.99. Peter Jackson must be broke, huh?

After this movie yes. Just rent it. I thought it would prove critics wrong but it didn't.

The book was 10x better, as is the case with most book adaptations.

I want to get this but when I can find it cheap. I haven't read the book but as a movie it wasn't that great but it was a movie I would want to own. The acting was great, Stanley Tucci performance was creppy.

I so wanted to love this movie, but also didn't like it. I actually wanted to like it so badly, I saw it with my sister, and I plan to rent it with my wife. Maybe if she likes it, she'll ask me to buy it. But definitely when it's down around $15.
