Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers will be getting a 4K release from Scream Factory in August! Part III will also be coming the same day. This will be a 4K-only release, as Sandpiper Pictures has the Blu-ray rights.

Finally. I had heard they got the the rights awhile. While I think I prefer the first and Felissa Rose, the 2nd is a ton of fun and Pamela does a great job as Angela. Did another distributor get the rights to the first film?

Shout Factory has said they're trying to find the negatives for the first film. I wasn't 100% sure if they were serious or simply trying to dispel rumors of a potential 4K but now that they're announcing the sequels and not the original, I think that's very likely what's happened. Which is so upsetting, considering their BD from 2014 came from a new 2K scan of the OCN. How do you lose the camera negative over the span of a decade in this day and age? Baffling.

To be clear though this isn't on Shout, if the OCN is missing it's the fault of the rightsholders who lost it.

I would love it if they somehow managed to get Pamela to do an interview for these releases. I don’t know if she’s ever talked about them publicly at all since leaving acting for photography.
