Is there any way to tell if a UHD came from a 4K master vs. a 2K upscale, either through the packaging or a list of UHDs that includes this information? Or do we just have to find this information about individual titles?

I'm not going to refuse to buy the upscales, but the movie tech nerd in me is curious to know this information. Some movies shot on the Alexa are finished in 4K, even though the camera shoots 3.4K in open gate mode. And VFX are usually 2K upscales. Last edited by Dragun; 07-15-2016 at 02:42 PM. |
