Default Amazon shipping problems

I ordered the bulk of my Christmas gifts for my family from Amazon with super saver shipping. I had 2 orders, both placed on the 16th including blu-rays and dvds. Amazon split the orders up into 5 shipments. 1 shipment went out on the 18th and i received it, but 3 shipments went out the 19th and 1 went out on the 20th. I have not recieved either of them as of today, and when I emailed Amazon, they claimed that they werew lost in transit. So I have 2 dvds out of about 12 i ordered. I've not had this problem before, but I just wondered if anyone else waiting on gifts was left hanging?

It is a busy time of year... lets hope that's all it is and nothing more. I have confidence you'll get your movies, but you'll just have to postpone the gift-giving portion of your Christmas to a later date!

Merry Christmas to you though!

Ya. I have 4 titles on order and, even though they are all listed as "in stock", my order isn't shipping until after Jan 2nd! After sending an e-mail I got a response stating that my order was on schedule and the delivery date could not be pushed up. And, knowing full well from my e-mail that they were supposed to be X-mas gifts, they didn't bother to give me a discount or credit or gift card of any sort for the "inconvenience". I'm hoping like hell that they have some sales this week so that I can have some SERIOUS price matching deals on them!!!

There should be a tracking #, when you goto amazon & goto 'where's my stuff,' for the free shipping they use USPS, sometimes there is no link , so you have to copy & then goto USPS.com & then paste the tracking # in.

The super saver has really sucked even more the past 2 months, even the pay standerd shipping is been super slow the past 2 months. Stuff that I would have gotten in 2-3 days a few months ago, now takes about 10 days.

I take it you are not a prime member? I have been a prime member for quite some time now and I never have any problems with Amazon. In fact, they are quite good to me.

I sent them an email yesterday stating disc 5 of my blade runner set is messed up, and they sent me a replacement order the same day with next-day delivery ... at no charge. (Yes, I do need to send the defective one back ofcourse).

But anyway, I personally love amazon. They have been absolutely amazing.

If you are not already a prime member; you should really consider it. Before my prime membership, I always choose super-saving shipping, and it was so-so.

Sometimes I'd have it in days; sometimes it took over a week or more.

i think thatts ridiculous as the only reason i shop at amazon is the free shipping as with shipping costs the price would equal the bb or cc price so to join prime would waste my reason at 79 dollars its a waste and i think they are slowing their free del time to force people into their prime scheme

I don't think that Canadians are eligible for Prime Memberships... besides, I have to pay for shipping anyways, so there is no point for me paying twice over for shipment priveledges.

I ordered some books. They were in stock and I ordered with 1 day shipping. I get en email saying they had ordering problems, and my order would be delayed until after the 27th. A few hours later, it says they shipped the items. I get them later that same day

I think they had computer problems or something.

I have an off the wall question for you. Why would you order items and only get super saver shipping on them so close to Christmas? Especially knowing that oh, thousands of other people are probably ordering items too and it's a busy time of year?

Just curious.

Amazon is weird sometimes when you pick the free shipping. Sometimes they ship right away, sometimes days if not a week or so later. One thing i have found is that they lie about the ship date alot. Heres some examples...

I live in Maine right now, so all my usps and ups stuff routes through a hub in Mass, then travels to South Portland Maine, for delivery to me. Well I placed an order last sunday, (multiple fox bogos). They split it up into 3 orders. All supposedly shipped on monday. Now they always give you a location scan after it has been picked up. So the first thing you will have is the "carrier has been notified to pick the item up". All 3 of those said Dec 17th. Then the one package said it had a location scan from Kentucky, where it shipped from. The other 2 still said nothing. By thursday package one was in ohio now. The other 2 finally both said "location scan Mass". Hmm, so the other 2 packages shipped on monday, but both showed a first location scan from Mass on thursday? But needles to say they all showed up on monday (yesterday).

Now i remembered that one of my co-workers used to work at an amazon warehouse in mass before moving up here to maine. So i called him up and was asking if he knew anything about shipping and their policies. He said he knew a little, but not a whole lot. So i explained my situation to him, and how alot of people have problems with free shipping. He did confirm ( which we already knew) that they do alot of times delay free shipping as a "punishment" for not paying to ship, by dropping those down to low priority. Even though he told me most of the sorting and stuff is done remotely. Next he told me alot of times, if you pick free shipping and you live well within the 5-10 business day area, they will generate the shipping label, and the message that the carrier has been notified to pick up your shipment. But, your item has not been packed. They will sit on it a few days, then pack it, then let the carrier pick it up. This way, customers believe it has already shipped when in fact it has not, but is still delivered in the correct time frame.

Interestingly enough, I did get my Blade Runner collector's edition before the date they said I'd get it.

The other interesting thing is that they inserted a HD-DVD flyer in my package!

I think it may also depend on which warehouse they send from. I can tell you living in L.A. I've never had a problem with their shipping *knocks on wood*. If they ship out today I can usually expect them on the 2nd day and sometimes I'm lucky enough to get them the very next day. I've used both the free shipping and standard shipping and usually for me it's about a 1 to 2 day difference in when Amazon ships out my order.

You took the words right out of my mouth, give them back I think Amazon is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I got my Blade Runner and Simpson Movie a day earlier than they stated they would deliver. Never had a problem with them, and have been a Prime member for quite a while.

I have yet to have an issue with them. I ordered a handycam from them with the super saver shipping on the 14th and it shows up 5 days later. It has to do with their work load and how close you are to the facility your package came from.
