Default Transporter 2 gets 5/5 for PQ and SQ

Transporter 2 (Blu-ray)

The presentation is the reason to check out this release far more than the film. The 18mbs MPEG-2 encoding looks almost flawless.

Another great Blu-ray presentation by Fox.

I just love that it is a DTS HDMA film with MPEG-2 on a BD-25!

They said it couldn't be done.

"They" have said a lot of rubbish that I enjoy watching get dashed down day after day.

Well the movie is shorter than the original. So that's probably why it's do-able.

I like the first one better though.

I gotta agree with Chad's review of the movie itself though. Way too cheesy for me. I saw it in the theater with my friends, and I was totally let down, especially since I thought the first one was pretty good. How he got the bomb off the car was just so lame, lol.
Though its still great news that the Blu-ray came out good. I don't even have to worry about quality issues anymore.

It just kills Peter to give a BD 5 stars... It's becoming quite comical. I might have to pick this one up... Depends on what is under the tree on Monday.

Jason Statham alone makes the movie "sell" already.

That guy is the man

This movie is a definite reference disc.....and so is the Descent...which has the very best looking dark lit scenes I have ever seen....if you don't mind pools of blood.

somebody please enlighten me. I thought 18 Mbps is suppose to be not so good for video quality. I thought 30~ 40 Mbps suppose to be the bomb for ultimate picture.... Aren't all BD movies are encoded in MPEG2? I didn't know there are other types of video files they use for BD. Explain plz..

Blu-ray discs can use: MPEG-2, VC-1, and AVC/H.264/MPEG-4 Part 10 (<- Those last three is 3 different names for the same codec); up to 40 Mb/s video rate.

(And on the audio side, they can use: Linear PCM, all Dolby variations, and all DTS variations; up to 7.1 channels)

Doesn't matter what codec is used, if it looks great thats all that matters. Transporter 2 is indeed reference, and it had the wow factor. Would use it to show off to friends without hesitation.

Glad I found this thread. I noticed these BD's at Wally World the other day but didn't get them because the back stated 18Mbps. I compared this to IRobot which stated like 36Mbps and got confused. Everyone says how great IRobot looks so I thought, there's no way TR 1 and 2 look good. Came here, read, BAM! Now I can go buy these for $10 each!
