Default ps3, whats the longest you've left it running?

what is the longest you've left your playstation 3 on and running for? that includes game playing, movie watching, folding @ home, listening to music, everything but sleep mode.

I've had my 2 PS3s running non stop for 3 days now. one running folding@home and the other playing games, music, movies, and folding@home. the one running folding non stop has actually heated the bedroom noticeably, which is nice as its been getting a little chilly for san diego.

i'm especially interested to see what some of the big folding@home people have to say. i'm looking at you aaron with over 180 work units.

i searched to see if this had been discussed with no luck.

My PS3 has been running pretty much constantly since the PS3 folding agent was released (save for a couple of power failures). 671 WUs so far.

Are you on the blu-ray.com team? We could use you, we're slowly chipping away at breaking into the 100's. (team ranking)

I was a little weary at first, because my first xbox 360(out of three) broke after 3 months of casual gaming. I said, eff it, it's for a good cause and decided to let it run.

My electric bill usually runs between $90-135. I'm stationed in South Carolina and the cost of living is insanely cheap. I can't find the article now, but I once read that if you were to leave your PS3 running for an entire year, it would cost you $60 or so--at least, that's what I think I read.

i've had both running constantly since I posted this thread (16 days now). I have 86 work units completed. a lot of people who've come over have asked what the ps3s are doing. some of them with ps3s have signed up after seeing it, I gave them our team number, not sure if they're using it though.

Default Since March 24th...

I have had my PS3 running continuously since the firmware update on March 24th that installed folding@home. When my PS3 is not playing games or playing blu-ray movies, it is running at 100% CPU utilization performing complex protein folding.

So if that ain't a stress test, i don't know what is! (588 work units, btw)

Haha yeah there are some PS3 servers(running games like Warhawk, or Folding @ Home) that have been on since those products came out.

I keep mine running pretty constantly, generally running F@H since I'm away about 12 hours out of the day. I'm up to around 160 work units.

I've noticed that sometimes when F@H is running, there's a high-pitched sound coming from the PS3. Anyone else have this issue? I can't really say if it happens any other times (playing games, movies, etc.) since I think it would usually be drowned out by the game or movie.

Cool Weeks at a time

I generally turn mine off every other week while I sleep. Otherwise it's usually on doing one thing or another. It does heat my media room rather nicely!! No question that it spits a lot of heat out but never felt mine "hot" to touch. Warm yes, but not hot.

I leave it in the standby mode 24/7 (red light on) and haven't had any problems.
Been doing it for a couple of months now.
