Default Ronin

So much for this being delayed on Blu-ray. Got mine this morning from Play.com along with Independence Day!

How does it look? I've been waiting for this one for a long time.

I'm sure we all could "un-delay" the title if we imported it.

It's ok. It's presented in MPEG2 format though whereas Independence Day is in AVC format (from what I can remember). Ronin is a 25GB bluray as opposed to Independence Day is 50GB. Thought that they could have given Ronin the 50GB AVC treatment!

Yeah it's the region B version.

The Japanese version is out for Ronin. I was thinking about picking it up.

Don't, unless you are fluent in Japanese because the menus are ONLY in Japanese. You might as well wait. It is being released in the US around Fathers Day. I've waited this long for this film on BD, I can wait a few extra months.

I will grab Ronin on a future FOX BOGO sale on amazon. I don't want to spend $34 on a BD-25, MPEG-2 encoded movie.

my thoughts exactly. In fact, since I already have it on DVD, if it's not a substantial upgrade, I won't even spend $12 bucks on it.
