Default Dave Matthews Band

This is a thread for all DMB fans here on blu-ray.com! They are my absolute favorite band, and I'm sure there are a few fans here. I was getting a bit tired of the fan website, antsmarching.org, as it seems the posters over there have nothing good to say anymore. Anyway, DMB!!!

My favorite band as well! I've seen them seven times since 2008.

I recognize your username from am.org. Are you going to see them this year?

Oh, yes, I was quite infamous there

But yes, I am seeing them in Michigan and Toronto.

I went to Alpine Valley in 2009 and 2010...but I'm not sure if I will be able to make it there this year. Rumor has it the Michigan and Alpine Valley shows are within like 2 days of each other. I like to space my shows out...so instead of AV I was thinking of maybe going to Ohio. I'd like to see 4 shows this summer...2 for sure though. What about you?

I'm really hoping the SPAC rumours of Jun 8th and 9th aren't true, because I've already paid my $440 for my Formula 1 ticket for Montreal (June 8th, 9th and 10th) and I'm not going to sell it so I can go to SPAC. Love that venue, the tailgating is simply awesome, my favourite out of all the venues as far as tailgating is concerned.

44 shows since 1998.

Looking forward to the new album, hope it's not ruined by excessive dynamic range compression like the CD of Big Whiskey was.

Can't believe it's 2012 and we still don't have a DMB show on Blu-ray yet, pathetic Red Light!!!!

If SPAC conflicts with F1, I'll probably just be doing Toronto and Darien. Sucks to not get to a 2-nighter though.

and it's one of the best BDs out there.

But I would love if they transferred Central Park to BD, that would be amazing.

I'm a brazilian fan,
I saw the 2008 concert, the biggest concert of the band in history with 3:30 hours (Live In Rio double CD release Brasil exclusive, Live Trax Vol. 19 triple CD with the entire concert) and the 2010 concert, this one only 2:30 hours.

I have the Radio City - Dave & Tim BD and wait anxious for a BD with the complete band.

I saw them in Atlanta, GA, in 2007; it was a benefit concert for Piedmont Park, and there were probably 50,000 or 60,000 fans there. The Allman Brothers Band opened for the DMB (I love Dave, but telll me that's not backwards...)

They subsequently released a 3CD live-album of the concert (Live at Piedmont Park), and it is excellent -- to this day, my typical listen when I reach for the DMB. It has just about every one of my favorite songs (plus "Melissa" by the Allmans and "All Along the Watchtower" by Jimi) except that it lacks "Crush" and a cover of "Cortez the Killer" (see Central Park Concert in NYC, maybe 2004, for this).

I really love DMB. I own all the albums and got a huge amount of enjoyment out of Big Whiskey. I actually saw them back in 1995 when "What Would You Say" was their only hit. I'd really like to see them again.

I love DMB! I became a fan in 2010 and was bummed that I couldn't see them on tour that summer due to vacation (and they did a ballpark show here in Pittsburgh that year!) But I went to my first show last Friday and it was amazing! The show was full of rarities (Seek Up, So Damn Lucky, Raven, Lie in Our Graves...) and not many hits, but I'm fine with that. It was a fantastic show. I'm going to make DMB my annual summer tradition!

Can't wait for the new album!

Dave Matthews Band is a band I've been meaning to get into. Any suggestions on which album to start with?

I would say Under the Table and Dreaming or Crash. You might also want to try out Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.

I like it too. Seems more mellow and laid back than Big Whiskey.

New album is brilliant, unfortunately the vinyl is from the CD master and pressed at United in Nashville, very poor quality pressing and very noisy.

Stick to the CD for this excellent release.
