Question Native Digital 4K DI + UHD = Video Game Look?

I'm sure many of you will crucify me for this, but after watching The Revenant and X-Men: Apocalypse in UHD I have to say I think there is merit to the argument they are TOO clear, sharp and clean looking. They have no real film filter added, they just look perfect, like looking through a window into real life. I'm sure many LOVE this, and more power to you, but for an old-school film fan like me it makes the movies look almost more fake, like they're a video game. It was kind of distracting and off-putting.

I compared both UHDs to the regular BDs and I feel like there's a legit argument to be made that the lower res takes the edge off a bit and makes them look more like a typical movie. With Apocalypse especially I felt like all the added detail and clarity and 2k CGI made the UHD look like a video game while the BD looked more like film.

This is probably just something I will adjust to, but it's an interesting issue.

*I searched a topic like this but it was hard to know what to search for terms wise. Let me know if I missed a similar thread.
