Default Warner Bros extending digital copy codes until 2017

New to the forum so I wasn't quite sure where to put this. Also did a search and it doesn't look like anyone else has posted this.

Anyways, I found this on another site and I can confirm that Warner Bros has extended all digital copy codes for previous and most likely new movies expiration date to 2017.

I was able to redeem my expired Inception digital copy that had expired in 2010.

Credit goes to Deejay726 over at the cheapassgamer boards.

Default Warner Bros extending digital code expiration?

Seriously? I was hoping studios might do this (I even thought about emailing them with the idea) and have a list of all my expired codes from eBay purchases. I hate researching/bidding/buying around an expiration date; so much hassle.

Listen up, studios! This is a GREAT customer service idea!

(P.S. Since New Line is now under WB, I wonder if they'll be extended, too? Elf, Harold & Kumar...)

This is AWESOME! Although I've yet to use the digital copy of ANY of the films I have, it's great customer service for them to extend the expiration date, especially when movies are still being sold new with expired digital copies...

I just tried the flowing and they did not work:

Tim Burton Batman
The Dark Knight
Amadeus

none were previously redeemed, so I guess its for certain titles only

Someone over at the forums I originally got this said they contacted customer service via email and got new iTunes codes, provided you give them your expired code.

So if your codes don't work, definitely email customer service.

Some of the older Digital Copies released from WB such as A History of Violence, don't have iTunes access. Only redeemable through Windows.

Anyway that's good news to extend the expiration dates though I'm good at redeeming my digital copy codes when I buy the movie.

Wow, this really does work! I just went to the WB digital copy website and sent them a message for each of the movies in my Lord of the Rings theatrical trilogy set and I was issued a new code for all 3 of the movies. When I got this for a great deal back in the day, I never expected to be able to get the digital copies to work. Thanks OP!

I don't know if anyone else can corroborate this, but I believe Universal has also extended their expiration dates on a bunch of their download only digital copies. I had emailed in April to beg for them to reactivate my Adjustment Bureau digital copy (my wife loved the movie and I forgot to redeem it ) that had expired 11/30/11, but they told me they could not do it. Then I received another email out of the blue 3 months later on July 13th that said, "We are happy to let you know that the "The Adjustment Bureau" digital copy feature has been reactivated and is now available". I tried it again and it worked perfectly.

Universal used to have the most lenient expiration dates on their on-disc digital copies as I downloaded Forgetting Sarah Marshall like 18 months after exp date. But their code-only ones that needed to be downloaded always expired on that the exact day on the code sheet, I remember I intentionally let one expire to test it. After I got this email I dug out a few other code-only ones I knew were expired and it let me redeem Paul and a few others. YMMV, but you may want to try out some old expired Universal codes to test this theory.

I just tried my digital copy code for the Incredible Hulk but that didnt work. I will try to e-mail them. Do you have a specific customer service e-mail you used to e-mail them?

There is a section on the digital copy website for "contact us" or support. Let me see if I can dig it up.

Its fine. I found it and left them a message. Crossing my finger and that they either give me a new code or reactivate my old one.

I just wish WB would return to offering iTunes digital copies. In fact, just include UV as well (like Universal and Paramount) to give consumers the choice.

They issued me a new code for my batman (89) code from the anthology set after emailing them just yesterday. Also universal gave me a new code for Incredible Hulk that I had.

I just redeemed Star War - "The Clone Wars" movie digital code. So glad that Warner re-activated them. I've always thought it was really stupid that they expired.

So i basically just threw out a bunch of codes that it turns that i CAN use even though they're expired.

Nice going Warner. Why even put an expiration date, if they dont even matter?

Default LOTR trilogy dc

Now if only NewLine would extend their expiration for their digital copies of LOTR trilogy......
I barely got into Dc because I now have a tablet.

I just wish these could be used for the respective ultra violet versions.
