Metro Goldwyn Mayer Fargo: The Complete Second Season (2015)

Fargo: The Complete Second Season - Blu-ray

Quote:
The all new "true crime" case in Fargo's latest chapter takes you back to 1979 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Luverne, Minnesota. "Lou Solverson" (Patrick Wilson), a young State Police Officer recently back from Vietnam, investigates a case involving a local crime gang, a major mob syndicate and a small town beautician "Peggy Blumquist" (Kirsten Dunst) along with her husband "Ed" (Jesse Plemons), the local butcher's assistant.

Helping Lou piece things together is his father-in-law, "Sheriff Hank Larsson" (Ted Danson). The investigation will lead them to a colorful cast of characters that includes "Karl Weathers" (Nick Offerman), the town lawyer of Luverne, Minnesota. A Korean War vet, Karl is a flowery drunk blessed with the gift of gab and the eloquence of a true con artist. Three-time Emmy winner Brad Garrett plays "Joe Bulo," the front man for the northern expansion of a Kansas City crime syndicate. The new face of corporate crime, Joe's bringing a Walmart mentality to small town America. His number two is "Mike Milligan" (Bokeem Woodbine). Part enforcer, part detective, Mike is always smiling - but the joke is usually on you.

Bulo and his crew have their sights set on the Gerhardt crime family in Fargo, currently led by matriarch "Floyd Gerhardt" (Jean Smart). With her husband at death's door, Floyd takes over the family business, frustrating her eldest son, "Dodd Gerhardt" (Jeffrey Donovan). An impatient hothead with a cruel streak to match his ambitions, Dodd can't wait for both his parents to die so he can take over and expand their business from kingdom to empire. "Bear Gerhardt" (Angus Sampson) is the middle son, an intimidatingly large man who, although inarticulate, is the most decent of his clan. "Rye Gerhardt" (Kieran Culkin), the youngest of the Gerhardt clan, views himself as a big shot, but in reality he's just a small dog with a loud bark.

Matching gloves to go with my hat?

Season 1 was one of the best first seasons of television I've ever seen. Season 2 may be even better.

I loved season one, but this is a LOT better. No stupid Key & Peele weird structural missteps in the last few episodes, it's been nearly flawless every single week and it's 9/10 over. Unless the finale REALLY is bad, this is easily one of the best seasons of TV I've ever seen.

I'm halfway through season two & loving it (two more to record), it seems to move at a stately pace, but then I realise just how much has happened in the episode, & I love the way it explodes into violence.

Put on your binge watching pants folks, because shit is about to get real.

I'm not usually one for gimmicky packaging, but if they made a collector's edition with a quilted cover and a pictogram book, I would buy the hell out of that.

Thumbs up FX Orders Third Season of Fargo!

Both of these seasons are done so well! the second season is as good as the first, as they are independent of each other with their storytelling!!

Kirsten Dunst, Fargo

FX will be heading back north once again: The network announced Monday it has ordered a third season of Fargo, the critically-beloved anthology series based on the Coen Brothers' 1996 film of the same name.

Creator Noah Hawley will return to run the Emmy-, Peabody- and Golden Globe-winning show, which is in the midst of its second season.

"Year two of Fargo is an extraordinary achievement and, given Noah Hawley's masterful storytelling, we can't wait to see where the third, all-new version of Fargo takes us," FX President Eric Schrier said in a statement.

Here's what Fargo's deadly new season is all about

Now we'll just have to wait and see which stars are cast and what gruesome murders Hawley dreams up this time around.

Fargo airs Mondays at 10/9c on FX.

I just recently started watching this and I'm as far as episode three. Wow! I'm liking this series very, very much. Dare I say it's better than the movie. Ok, maybe not. Is the first season as good as this season? What's a good price to pay for the first season? I'm thinking I have to see the first season too, because this series is one of the best TV shows I've seen in a long time.

The first season(as good as the second) is worth getting IMHO!

This is the lowest according to camelcamelcamel Lowest * $14.96 Jul 15, 2015, it is $22.49 as of now @ amazon.com.

I know I bought it when it was on(I think) a BF sale(I do not remember what I paid for the 1st season, but it was much lower then today's price).

So are you saying that I can watch season 2 without ever having seen season 1?? Season two is free right now on demand for me.

It's referenced repeatedly and made an actual appearance more than once, so they earned it even if you don't like it. It was some kind of a play on The Man Who Wasn't There. There was an interview with Hawley the other day about it where he gave a better justification to those of us who weren't a fan, too.

Yes. There are a few connections with season 1, but none that require you to have seen it first. Season 1 has a reference to the events of episode 9, and it also has three characters that are in this season (only one of whom is really major), but none of the info aids in understanding season 2 or anything. You'd just be like "oh, that little girl is our hero from season 1" and then move on.

In fact, it would probably be BETTER to watch season 2 first, cause then you wouldn't know which three characters have to survive, and thus there would be slightly more suspense.
