I watched Return of the Jedi on HBOHD last weekend. I thought the picture looked terrific. I can't wait for all 6 to show up on Blu. However, I don't think there is a chance in hell that Lucas will go through the trouble until the format war is over.

phantom mediocrity is why most think the later movies were crap, as long as you woke up for the POD race and the last sabre duals, you pretty much got the best moments of the movie.

i liked the last 2 and in HD are great, can only be better on blu with lossless audio as well

empire strikes back is still the best

Well, I certainly don't like the prequels. Though I do like the original trilogy... somewhat.

I'm not a big fan of it like some people here are. I like it just okay.

I will come out and say it and forever be branded on blu-ray.com as the one who goes against the grain...

I did not like Star Wars... To the point where I can say, I could live the rest of my life without ever seeing this movie ever again.


Now before everyone's panties get all wadded up lemme explain myself. I can appreciate all of the special effects in this movie. I can also appreciate the technology for the time. What I cant appreciate is the poor story line. There is nothing about the story and the intergalactic nonsense that it brings. I just cant get over the big hairy apes that have a weird frog in their throat every time they talk or the big fat guy they call jabba that has no significance whatsoever. Also, what is the deal with the robots? R2D2? seriously! He annoyed the shit out of me! Or the short dude that talked backwards???!?! Everything about the movie annoyed me so much! Like I said, I can appreciate the quality of movie for the time along with the special effects. As far as story line, it makes me fall asleep...

To me, it isnt even mildly entertaining. I dont feel that I need to explain myself on the prequels at all so we will leave it at that.

The first 3 Star Wars were good and the new 3 were terrible. However, in addition to saying the first trilogy was good I must add that I think those 3 movies are the most overrated movies ever made. They are good, but not as amazing as some people make them seem.

I agree but its very nostalgic(sp) I remember dreaming about seeing the 1st release before going then waiting in a really long queue in the rain ... it blew my sox off @ the time haha mind you I was only about 9/10

Im with ya man, not a big star wars fan and don't plan on watching them ever. I've seen one or two I think but that's it. Seems lots of "great classics" are getting taken down today. First Blade Runner (by me), now star wars, what's next LOTR?- which by the way I can't stand. I walked out of the first one an hour into it and never looked back.

I was a huge fan of Blade Runner (which I still havent picked up.... shitty but Im broke!), The fifth element, the matrix, alien, children of men, ET, etc

Its just SW and LOTR are movies that I will never have.

How is LOTR sci-fi? It's more fantasy/action. When you say sci-fli most people will think matrix, fifth element, aliens, CE3K, event horizon etc... Not LOTR..
