Looks good but......If I were you I would get a 7.1, that way you'll be set for the future...

Set for the future is an interesting concept in a world where we deal with planned obsolescence.

Then again, I use HTiBs with optical inputs for my sound.

I am not too worried about 7.1 surround sound. 5.1 is good enough for me. and the reciever is in my budget so that is a +. Then someday i will get super wicked speakers lol...

A few day back someone in the forum was recommending an Onkyo 605 or 505 i believe. I have always bought SONY and checked out the onkyo features and it is a very nice reciever for the money! Check out Amazon they have an Onkyo 505 7.1 for $234.12. Here is the link: http://www.amazon.com/Onkyo-TX-SR505...8966065&sr=8-9

I forgot to mention That I currently have a Sony ES receiver that is a few years old (5.1). I am having issues with the rear channels cutting in and out (relay i believe because I here it cycling in the receiver). I was going to buy an HDMI switch because my 55" LCD only has one HDMI input which i currently use for my Dish Network HD-DVR. My PS3 is Component video with optical connection. I have heard that it would be better to spend the money on a new receiver vice a switch and I can currently upgrade to 6.1 without an issue. the Onkyo does support 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1 and I have seen a few titles with 6.1 support.
