Arrow 250 UHD titles set to be released in 2017

I am glad to hear that 110 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray titles were released in 2016 and around 250+ more will be released in 2017. Streaming 4K movies is lower quality video with lossy audio and some 4K streaming providers have recommended 50Mbps download speeds minimum, since other people in the house are using the Internet at the exact same time. Netflix is now saying 25Mbps minimum is recommended for speed.

In many cities now consumers can get 1Gbps upload and download speed (around $70 a month), and even 10Gbps upload and download speed is offered in larger cities. However in rural areas where there is no fiber to the home or cable TV service consumers are limited to ADSL2+ technology from the local telephone company. For example the ADSL2+ modem is capable of a maximum of 24Mbps download and 4Mbps upload, but to get that speed you would need to be a few hundred feet from the central office. Under ideal conditions the fastest speed many consumers can get on ADSL2+ is 12.5Mbps or 13Mbps download and 2Mbps upload (In that past people were limited to 10Mbps down and 1Mbps upload, so that is a improvement in rural areas). Even peaking at 13Mbps download, that is not fast enough for 4K Ultra HD streaming even when no one else in the house is using the Internet. Once cable and telephone companies roll out fiber to rural areas within 10+ years then rural areas will be able to get 1Gbps and 10Gbps speeds also. Alaska even has 1Gbps Internet speeds, however many rural areas in the USA are still limited to around 12.5Mbps (it all depends on how far one is from the central office when dealing with ADSL2+ speeds).

"Despite increasing speeds, he noted that Netflix recommends 25Mbps streaming speed, yet Akamai estimated average US bandwidth at 15Mbps and thus barely sufficient for quality HD, much less Ultra HD."
