Wish it had the UK video nasty cover as the reverse, loved the tagline, to avoid fainting, keep repeating, it's only a movie.

I'm assuming the r-rated cut is just more censored than the uncut version. But what is the Krug & Company version? I wish there were a version with the bumbling cop duo edited out.

Krug & Company has some extra footage, but also some censorship cuts.

(edited to remove incorrect link, they don't have the R-rated version)

Is the uncut version the one that was released on blu in the US?

I alway thought that was the r-rated.

I'm guessing this is Region B? And will there be a chance on seeing a US Region A version in the future (like DEEP RED and THE HILLS HAVE EYES)?

It's being released in both territories.

The UK Pre Cert tape cover (Replay video) used the tag line but was a terrible cut and paste of the US materials; white text on black and devoid of illustrations. The Metrodome 3 disc UK Ultimate DVD release is the template to start from as it is a thing of beauty. I purchased that one day one but actually I haven't even cracked it open so I'm not sure I'll bother upgrading. It was one highly sought after tape back in the day and I did get one in the end. I even bought a David Hess-signed book on the topic, but I'm not sure the movie appeals to me these days, now I'm a parent. If I do feel the need to revisit it, I guess that DVD set will suffice.

Who would have thought we would have lavish LEs of Nekromantik 1 & 2, Pieces and now Last House on the Left available in the UK? These really are great days to be a fan of the genre.

I remember my first DVD of LHOTL. It was the Dutch DVD, I picked it up in Amsterdam while on holiday. I rang ahead and reserved a bunch of titles which I collected when I got there. Last House was one of them. Coming back home with half a suitcase full of dodgy horror DVDs was an experience

Since then I have bought several editions. I've liked LHOTL since the pre-cert VHS days.
To me it is up there with Cannibal Holocaust as the cream of the crop.

It's a very decent film from Craven, only spoilt by badly judged tonal shifts whenever the two cops are on the scene.

Hess makes for a fantastic villain. In fact, all the baddies are suitably nasty pieces of work and utterly believable in my opinion.

I like the fact that Craven sets the template for several thematic elements which'll end up being a feature of some of his later films (laying home-made traps, parents revenging the death of their kids, nightmare sequences).

Although it's rough around the edges, it's definitely in my top 4 Craven films. The others being The Hills have Eyes, ANOES and Scream.

There is no better rapist on celluloid than David Hess. Last House on the Left, House on the Edge of the Park and Hitch-Hike make for a fantastic nasty Hess rape triple feature

It's just a shame that it's the same as the MGM version, no doubt the same master and they never used the 91 minute uncut version, only the 84 minute version.

But for those that didn't get the 2008 Metrodome 3 Disc DVD this is still good value for money.

we dont know if they used the same master as the current blu release. the release info states 2k scan from negatives so could be a new scan.

also you will never see the 91 min version as everyone involved said its lost.
someone has the footage but without sound.
