I don't know anything about Capelight (never even heard of it), but this is an exciting announcement because it never got a BD release, and it's no longer available digitally -- at least on iTunes. And it's a terrific movie.

They're a German label; been around for a long time.

Huh. Has Capelight ever released anything in the US before?

In any case, I don't trust them at all and generally steer clear of their releases.

I hope like everyone else that the release turns out great but I’d keep my expectations in check as their brand-new release of Bilitis by David Hamilton, which came out last week, is extremely problematic to say the least.

However, they’ve also done All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) worldwide and Bloodsport, which turned out great but they received (almost) ready-made masters from the rights holders.

They are a German boutique label that is now also doing releases in the UK and US.

The movie is no longer available digitally in the US because it appears Warner has lost the rights to the movie. The US rights are probably back with the producers.

If I want to see the movie again -- and I've been searching for it for quite some time -- I'm not sure there's an alternative even if the disc is problematic.

I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the Warner / New Line / Fine Line titles they acquired (versus produced in-house) are not having their distribution rights renewed. Warner is in clear financial trouble and we’ve already seen this happen with Miramax. It could be another win as the titles end up with boutique labels who have interest in releasing them.

Funny. They've put out a lot of good releases, namely the Re-Animator media book, which, prior to Arrow's 4K, blew away the US version.

You can D2D the DVD and it will port to MA and the other digital retailers.

That has been broken for me for the past year -- I have a cart full of titles but get an error when checking out, I can't clear my cart, and Vudu support hasn't helped.
