Default Aren't you happy you bought a Blu-ray Player.

I have to got say that I am very happy that I was one of the very earlier BD supporters and I am glad I chose Blu-Ray from the beginning. I was tempted a couple of weeks ago with the Wal-Mart fire-sale on HD-DVD players. I was going to buy one just to rent movies on it. Thank god I didn't bite the bullet and stuck it out with Blu-Ray. I always knew Blu-Ray was the clear HDM winner. Now on to the real challenge of Blu-Ray vs. DVD. That will be the biggest challenge to Blu-Ray.

Well considering when fax's came out I thought, "who the hell would want that?" and when the first cell phone (bag phones) came out I thought, "What a piece of junk, I'll use the pay phone like always." I'm glad I finally got one right!

I bought PS3 due in large part because of BRay capability...

And to be completely honest, had 360 actually had produced a unit with built-in HD DEAD player, I may never have joined this website...

Funny how things turn out...

Sony, my hat is off to you!

i am somewhat new to the game. i got my first blu-ray player december 17th. i've always been a movie buff as i'm sure most here are. having a child and different priorities kept me away for awhile. although i was always reading about the technology and reading the posts here even though i wasn't registered. as an outsider i could sit back and be bi-partisan. both formats have fanatics and it seemed like it was pretty even up until late summer/early fall, then something changed. Paramount jumped ship and it seemed like someone lit a match under blu-ray supporters asses. In my area (York, PA.) blu-ray started moving like crazy while HD-DVD sat on the shelf. This prompted me to get in the game and i'm glad i did. I own 13 blu-rays and with this announcement surely a lot more.

I was hesitant to buy anything, including DVDs, because I wanted to buy movies for my HDTV. I looked at both formats and finally chose Blu-ray no more than a couple of months ago. I'm glad I did. I have bought just over 20 Blu-rays over the past 2 months and just happy for Warner to focus on Blu-ray.

I'm happy I made my kids do research to come to the same conclusion I did on a PS3.

Bought it in October, sat under tree until 12/25. Nice..... 80gb PS3. I also got the Logitech Media Pro Keyboard, and routinely surf the net using my PIP in one corner and TV on the other. Wireless, removable Hard Drive. It is a beautiful piece of hardware.

We were smart, we used logic, they were duped.. Way To Go Micro$haft. Anyone think Billy Gates may come down with the stomach flu and not make his little worthless address.

Happy Blu Year,
Joe

I bought my PS3 since launch and so far it has been the best investment I've made in a while.

Thumbs up Yes, I be happy

Last March I came into some unexpected money. Friends at work asked what I was going to do with some of my new-found dough. I replied "I'm going to get a Blu-Ray player". Many of them thought I was nuts because there was no clear leader at that point, although it did look like HD-DVD was ahead by a bit. I did some research into both formats and even though the average cost of a standalone Blu-Ray was over $200 more than an HD-DVD player (I know I should have gotten a PS3) I went ahead and got a Samsung 1200 (yeah, yeah, but I still like it overall, great PQ and upconverting). To me, the first thought that popped into my head when I thought 1080P DVDs was Blu-Ray and I am glad I stayed fast and stayed Blu. I am now up to 53 titles with more on the way I am sure.
