One disc is for UHD, one disc is for Blu, and one disc is for Ultraviolet. Silly you.

Seriously though. Yeah would all three versions be on the UHD? Or maybe just the final cut? And would there be a new 4K transfer for the blu? Again with one or all three? And what about the UV copy? BVS redeemed and gave both theatrical and ultimate cuts. I have CE3K on iTunes but it's just the one version. Maybe they'll add new cuts for that version too? Man, 40th for Star Wars, CE3K, Smokey and the Bandit, and me! This could be an awesome year!

Being a Spielberg film, little doubt.

Hey Geoff, I wonder if anyone at another site will be complaining if this isn't scanned at 10K.

Is UHD really that much better than regular HD?

I wouldn't know.

I don't got no UHD TV.

I don't got no women.

...I don't got nothin.

Take my money!

I also just picked up The Terminal, which makes my Spielberg collection on BD complete.

Based on what we know so far from the limited number of 35mm films on the format, the UHD BD offers a refinement and greater transparency to the source. Is it a night and day difference compared to the BD from the same scan? Not at all. In my opinion, it's more for the hardcore video and film enthusiast.

Really looking forward to this one. I hope Spielberg follows this up with Jaws & the Jurassic Park(s).

You have your movies. You have that disturbing avatar. And you have us Ray.

I will definitely have to double dip.

This is nitpicky, but there are a couple of errors on the current BD they could fix. There's a slight hiccup in the audio during the mountain-in-the-living-room scene in the original version (at a branching point), and there's a missing line in the opening scene of the Special Edition.

Yes, but tbh I have noticed that 4k upscale of 1080p looks just as good as UHD blu-ray. There is a difference if you do 4k upscale of 1080p material. What I don't like is people thinking 1080p doesn't look any good now, give me a break it's still amazing.

Unless the transfer is noticeably improved, or unless they add some brand new WORTHY Bonus Features, I'll keep my 30th Anniversary Ultimate Edition.
