Fantastic news. I notice Mill Creek have also released the following Sony Hammer films on DVD:

Scream of Fear
Stop Me Before I Kill
The Snorkel
Creatures the World Forgot
Die! Die! My Darling!
Maniac
Never Take Candy From a Stranger

I don't know if they'll get round to all the thrillers but I'd be surprised if Scream of Fear wasn't on the agenda, maybe with Stop Me Before I Kill since they're the remaining titles on the first Mill Creek Hammer set. There are a few other Sony ones also:

Cash on Demand
The Pirates of Blood River
The Devil-Ship Pirates
The Stranglers of Bombay
The Terror of the Tongs

This is turning out to be a hell of a year for classic gothic horror on BD!

Now we just need Warner to announce a second Hammer set, and Universal to give us more of their classic monster movies (and in a perfect world someone would also release the many Italian examples, but that's probably never going to happen).

Gorgon and Revenge were the ones I hoped most for, so I could not be more happy! Even the covers look cool! I would of course have preferred separate releases for each film, but since Hammer does not appear to have that wide appeal any more, and Mills Creek being Mills Creek, I find this a very acceptable compromise.

This is so awesome. I knew they talked about doing these, so I'm glad they followed through. And that's how you do a Hammer cover too

Some (highly premature?) grumbles that these might include truncated American cuts of the films. Does anyone know the differences between the US and UK cuts of the SD DVDs?

Good to see Sony's Revenge of Frankenstein getting a release.

I'd like to collect all of the Hammer Frankenstein & Dracula films, and I feared this one might get missed - I think it's the last unreleased Frankenstein Hammer).

I believe the only ones still MIA are:

Scars Of Dracula (UK distributor - EMI)
Lust For A Vampire (UK distributor - EMI - Not Frankenstein/Dracula, but needed to complete the Karnstein trilogy)
Dracula A.D. 1972 (UK distributor - Warner - announced in Germany)
The Satanic Rites Of Dracula (UK distributor - Warner)
The Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires (UK distributor - Warner)

Happy to be corrected on any of the above.

Who grumbled that??? What a bizarre and specific accusation. I can't imagine you saw more than one forum person saying that. Either they were some kind of Hammer expert that knows more than any basic sources out there, they were ONLY talking about Dr Jekyll and they were unaware of the DVD, or they were just an idiot.

The only one I'm aware of that ever had a cut version was Dr Jekyll, and that one's DVD was uncut, so...I see no reason to think this one would be cut. It would have to be an entirely different transfer than the DVD (it had a different title, etc).

I wonder why they didn't do Scream of Fear rather than Revenge of Frankenstein as it would have been the 4 titles from the Hammer Icons of Horror DVD set. Not complaining, but being a Christopher Lee fan I'd have preferred Scream, but you can't go wrong with Frankenstein.

Hopefully they keep outing out the Sony controlled titles in Double Features like this would really like: Scream of Fear, Devil-Ship Pirates, The Pirates of Blood River and Terror of the Tongs.

Warner has the better Hammer library. I don't understand why Universal does not finish their classic monsters on Blu-ray.

Yeah dont believe that crap. If you want comparisons / know the difference in cuts, http://www.dvdcompare.com has loads of them
http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparison....php?fid=14195
Plus Sony used the UK longer by 5 seconds cut for their DVD and see no reason why the bluray wouldnt be any different
