I see that the sixties Fox zany spy send-up Our Man Flint (Notre Homme Flint) is being released in France on 25th of September. The Twilight Time release sold out some time ago.

I'm very hopeful it'll be fine. I checked other BQHL releases on the DVDClassik review site, & they all had removeable subs. When Twilight Time released the Flint films, they released them a month or two apart, so I'd think In Like Flint will be along.

Will this be the same print that TT used I wonder? Looking at the review for that edition it doesn’t sound amazing, but must be better than the old DVD. With no UK release in sight and the TT long sold out, I’m hoping this French version will do the job.

I'm sure it will do, I see it has the Fox logo on the spine of the case. Reviews of the TT Flint films said that Our Man Flint didn't look quite as good as In Like Flint, but I'm sure it'll do for me. I pre-ordered it, so I'll let you know what I think. Looking at eBay, they have one TT Blue-ray, which would cost me over £120 delivered (plus customs charges), so just over £21 delivered doesn't seem too bad.

I've never looked at the trading thread (didn't know there was one), I'll have to start checking. Anyway, that was a bargain, I haven't seen it for less that a $100 on eBay for a good while.

Neither one of the TT transfers was really good -- they were from ancient Fox masters. Would be worth nabbing if this was from a fresher source.

Yup, I know what they look like, I have the TT In Like Flint, but with the sale of Fox to Disney, who knows what Fox will be doing with their catalogue releases, it could well be this or nothing. And an older transfer may not be too much of a bad thing when you look at how Fox loves the blue look on their catalogue releases these days.

Happy memories of seeing these films at the cinema in '66/'67.

on all 3 discs i've everyfied with this distributor (BQHL Edition) 9to5,jumpin' jack flash & visiting hours all are zone B written on back cover but blu ray are zone free on discs once veryfied with anydvdhd software... Also the DVD's are NTSC coded so maybe this one will be too

Na, but it's not unusual with Amazon.fr. I've ordered a few discs & on the release date you get, Actuellement indisponible, give it a few days & it'll be in stock.

Hopefully this proves to be a proper replacement for the OOP TT discs that I'm still kicking myself over not picking up. However they were based on the old DVD era master anyhow and not a huge leap beyond the DVD set.

I've just got an email from Amazon.fr cancelling my order, saying that, "Indeed, after several unsuccessful attempts, we found that we can not get it". Oh well, I'll check it in a week or two's time.

It seems that the product is still in stock on fnac website https://www.fnac.com/a13763457/Notre...Coburn-Blu-ray, same to the last 5 blu-ray releases by bqhl on september 25, so the release's not canceled but maybe only available on fnac website at the moment ?

Ah, good. I notice that Amazon.fr aren't saying "Actuellement indisponible" anymore, now it's: temporarily out of stock, & inviting you to order, & some 3rd party sellers are selling it, so I'd think it shouldn't be too long before they have it in stock.

Got my copy from fnac. Print looks very good and I suspect a new master based on the TT screenshots. Hopefully In Like Flint will follow.

It's finally arrived from Amazon.fr I'll check it out later on.

I had a look, & it looks almost exactly the same as Twilight Time's, In Like Flint (so the same old transfer). Very colourful & contrasty, okay, but a new transfer could work wonders, that's if it wasn't one of Fox's cyan/blue jobs. No extras, not even a trailer, but that doesn't bother me.
