One of Stewart's best films. I wonder how it will stack up to my DE BD.

Just imported this from Amazon-IT. Oh well, it's happened before, it'll happen again. I'll gladly re-buy for better PQ or extras.

Excellent film. Andy mclaglen was pretty much a B director his entire career, but he did occasionally rise above mediocre. This was certainly one of his high points. Will absolutely get this one

I’ve just imported this film from Germany. Cost just under $8.00. Overall picture quality is very good. Generally speaking it’s a nice transfer, good clarity, colour and detail. Maybe a 4 out of 5. Sometimes there is a bit of flickering and dirt and some scenes can look pretty bad like the battle scene at the beginning roughly around 1 min 44 secs in-2 mins 12 seconds. The picture drops to bad dvd quality and there is lots of print damage, scratches etc. Weird. It’s not for long and luckily doesn’t spoil the viewing experience.

Not sure how it stacks up to the Kino release?

Great western though, well worth Importing.

I really enjoyed this family war drama. I am big fan of Jimmy Stewart. I don't own the German release but this transfer was good.

Just received my Kino copy of Shenandoah. I popped it in for a quick viewing of the first 10 minutes to see how it looked. As noted above (regarding the import from Germany) the battle scenes that start after the opening credits are pretty bad quality. I assume it was stock footage used at the time ... which was likely already bad to begin with. At any rate, after the short series of battle scenes, the picture gets incredibly better. Haven't watched the whole film yet, but it looks darn good especially when it didn't get a 2k scan or restoration. Very pleased!
