Default Dark Castle Entertainment - Your favorite?

Rewatched Gothika last night and felt there needed to be a thread pertaining Dark Castle Entertainment movies. These are produced by Joel Silver and Robert Zemeckis and they always seem to be fun watches, at least for me.

Thought it be fun to create a poll on which ones in their Horror category is your most favorite.

I still need to check out Splice eventually. Maybe I'll save it for October. I do remember enjoying Thirteen Ghosts years back.

Only one I've seen is Splice but it was a while ago, I thought it was OK.

None of these were great. Most are somewhere between mediocre and OK for me. I don't know which one to choose ... The Reaping maybe? Yeah, let's do that.

I am still very curious about Orphan, though. Looking forward to catch up that one.

Come on, dont ruin the fun please. We know these arent masterful pieces of work. But there is certain entertaining factors about them. For example, the opening sequence of Ghost Ship was incredible, the rest of the movie not so much.

I never saw The Reaping. Might consider it for next month.

Same here, they are among my favorite horror films of the last couple of decades. House on Haunted Hill and House of Wax are watchable, the rest is dross.

Orphan (solid cast, acting, direction, script, and even the soundtrack is great for setting the mood) is my favorite.

Thirteen Ghosts comes a close second (at the very least from a visual standpoint, I love the design of the ghosts and the house).

House on Haunted Hill is third, Geoffrey Rush makes a great stand-in for Vincent Price. Its sequel, Return is just goofy but fun in a b-movie way.

Ghost Ship is watchable if only because of its opening.

House of Wax is at the least an interesting update to the film,
[Show spoiler]culminating in a literal house of wax melting
although I don't entirely care for the cast, but Cuthbert makes an alright lead.

Splice is a fascinating idea, well acted and works for me at least for the first two thirds but then goes off the deep end.

Each one has something that's quite fascinating.

House of Wax has some really cool production design as well as Thirteen Ghosts. Gothika has great technicality in camera work.

Come on pall, bit unfair, you just know I'm not that guy.

I would say 'Splice', 'House on the Haunted Hill' and 'House of Wax' are OK. They all are enjoyable on some level. 'The Reaper' I actually liked. Very curious about 'Orphan', might be a good Halloween choice right there.

Won't share my opinion on '13 Ghosts', 'Ghost Ship' (opening scene is fun) and 'Gothika', since I did not enjoy them at all as a whole.

Are there any upcoming Dark Castle movies?

Gothika inspired you to create the thread, yet you didn't list it as an option

Orphan is definitely my favorite, but I've enjoyed all of them to varying degrees, apart from Return to House. Hated that one.

House on Haunted Hill. The only Dark Castle movie not on blu-ray.

I love pretty much of all them, except Return to House.

No one was going to vote for it anyways

I like it though. Even Roger Ebert (RIP) really enjoyed it.

Orphan by a country mile!!!

While clearly flawed, I also enjoyed House On Haunted Hill, Gothika, House Of Wax, and Thir13teen Ghosts.....
