I'm gonna predict Jigsaw pulls a Blair Witch and under-performs. The marketing for it has been lackluster and there doesn't seem to be much interest for another Saw movie in general outside of the hardcore fans of the franchise. It'll probably still win this weekend though, depending on how well Boo 2 opens and holds.

I agree that Jigsaw will underperform, I think it'll take the weekend still. But that Saw stigma still remains, I could hear people at the screening of It saying "they made another one?".

Suburbicon looks absolutely amazing. Probably Top 10 worthy for me. Not sure how it will play with the general movie going audience though.

Jigsaw's gotta do well. It's Halloween time. It's a return to an established franchise. Comparing it to the recent Blair Witch reboot isn't really fair. Blair Witch was 1 film, followed by an unauthorized sequel. Saw was an official 7 movie franchise. I know I'm super excited for it. I was 16 when the first Saw came out, and I went to every single one in theaters.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Saw franchise but some of them were pretty good and fun to see with an audience back in the day. I was glad when it ended though. Yet I'm oddly looking forward to Jigsaw. I think it's mostly due to nostalgia. Might open to 11 Million but that's still likely enough to take the top spot.

I'm starting to think Suburbicon will make less than $5M. Bad reviews, way too much competition and black comedies usually don't well.

40% right now, which is bad for a movie aimed at adults since they listen to them more than younger peopel.
