Any one notice more Paramount Blus suddenly? - Blu-ray Forum

I was at Best Buy the other day and suddenly they have 5 or 6 times more Paramount Blu-rays then they had for most of the year.

They must be finding extra hidden stock somewhere...

They've probably made enough copies to tide them over their 18 month contract with MS.

I've noticed that too, certain titles anyway all of a sudden are available in stores that didn't even have Blu before.

Babel and Sky Captain come to mind.

I've still been able to find all of the Paramount Blu titles in stock either at Best Buy, Circuit City, or Amazon EXCEPT Shooter. That seems to be the only "rare" one that they don't have more of.

yeah Shooter is the only hard to find title, isn't it selling for a ton on Ebay?

Yeah, I saw one a couple weeks ago going for over $50. Picked it up used at Movie Stop for $20, and they had two of them new. Almost bought them to put on E-Bay.

I have It on Blu-ray too, but I just can't give it up. It feels very collectible, plus an awesome movie to begin with.

Probably you're seeing stock shifted around post-Christmas, since they're no longer returnable

You can still get it on Ebay, but probably not worth it haha. Have you looked in smaller businesses that carry Blu-ray?

I've noticed that. The MI:3 box set was out of stack with amazon.co.uk... now it's back in stock. I suspect that someone at Paramount is "letting slip" some stock. Possible to gauge the market, or maybe just a BD supporter sickened by what has transpired. Otherwist maybe it's just a c0ck up!!!

... or maybe they were allowed to under the contract, after a certain amount of time (it HAD been almost exactly four months when these started popping up), release inventory they were holding of movies they had already released on Blu?

Yes, I have seen some of their titles in BB that were sold out for the last 8-10weeks.

Just rent it from blockbuster and see what they charge if you don't return it. It should be close to the $30 mark. Bada Big Bada Bang. You own it. I'm pretty sure they won't have a problem replacing it.

Tell me about it. I bought an extra copy of Sky Captain in Blu for resale later. You can still find them for $20. Losing money on that deal.

I just purchased MI and MI:II from amazon. Those were the last two paramount titles I wanted that they had released. Figured since shooter was already in high demand, I should jump. Now I wonder if I should have just waited.

Speaking of Shooter, I sold my copy on Ebay for $45. What really surprised me was I put up an auction format starting at 0.01 and a Buy-It-Now listing for $45 and I guess the person who decided to purchase it immediately must have been really desperate.

I don't really think there is any meaning behind it. There were probably a ton of them floating around, so they just got them on the shelves. I've seen a handful at Best Buy.
