Default First big Retailer to go Blu?

What do you think is in the cards for the Retail side of this battle? Wal-Mart? Best Buy? What do you see regarding these two and blu exclusivity?

I think there would be three first retailers, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Target.

Target will definitely be the first. Their HD DUD section is tiny at my local store, but the Blu section is huge!

I am hoping Best Buy, definitely one of, if not my favorite place to go. News like this would just make it even easier for me to walk into a Best Buy.

I say BestBuy.

There were already rumors floating around of them dropping HD DVD, then Paramount jumped ship.

Yeah, though in Canada... I'm going to say it's Wal-Mart. Their HD DVD selections are small in comparison to the BD selections.

I visited my local Super Target this evening after all the good news. I stopped by the far larger Blu rack and told them, "Good work, boys! You'll soon be displaying here alone!"

I believe you're quite right with this prediction!

Yesterday I went to Best Buy to buy a new Blu-ray film; there was one person in front of me purchasing 5 Blu-ray titles. I finally got to witness a true Blu-ray supporter in person, I usually shop online.

The retailers won't need to go exclusive. Without enough content, the buying volumes alone will dictate the shelf space. All we'll see is that the red cases will slowly melt away - I suspect within a month we'll see an immediate impact, and probably within six months we'll see entire stores were there are no red cases at all.
