Default 4K 55" vs 65"

I was thinking about getting a new 4K LG OLED TV. I currently have a 55" Samsung LED HD TV. Would I notice a big difference in 4K with just a 55" TV?

The OLED with more pronounced blacks, every pixel is a separate emission source creates a different presentation then a Samsung UDTV. If you can get the 65” as a bigger screen is visually more appealing to watch as long as your room size, seating distance is appropriate. I have both.

Depends where you sit.

All 4K TVs have 4K resolution, the size is irrelevant. If you've got your nose to a 32" you'll see a difference, if you're watching a 10' from across town you won't.

But yes, the OLED tech on its own will ruin your future LCD-watching experience.

As above, it's all about where you sit AND Imo having the right settings dialled in for the best picture quality in line with the movie standards calibrators work to. That said, I have a 50" Plasma atm and it has a thick bezel around the edge but OLEDs are razor thin so could easily fit a 55" in the same spot. That doesn't stop me wanting a 65" instead as I'm due to move into a bigger room soon enough hopefully that can accommodate that size when it becomes affordable enough. My goals to upgrade in 2020 or so if PS5 releases then. Hopefully prices start dropping quite a lot more as competition heats up and the LG factory gets up to full speed with the larger screens they making.

55"? :: absolutely!
65" is not 'necessary'

just go to your local Best Buy and 'look' for 'yourself'
distance issues? :: really? :: all that you have to do is judge for yourself (at the store - moving to whatever distances interest you - and, decide for 'yourself' what you see/think/enjoy
size issues :: that is simply 'personal preference' :: although i currently have 50" & 55" my preference is 43" (13') :: unfortunately, it will be a few more years before 'premium picture quality will be available at 43", and i will 'downsize' (currently, premium picture quality requires 55" which is entirely a manufacturing decision, not mine)
decide for yourself :: go to retail and carefully choose (by your own standards) :: trust yourself and what you see

I got a 55 inch OLED to replace my 60 inch LED and the difference is massive, I’ll never go back to LED

I would always get as large as possible! I bought a 55" OLED last year and I am already wishing that I had gone for the 65" instead. =)

For OLED, it also depends on what signal you feed it the most. 1080p and above sources look great on 65", 720p and 1080i, not so much. So, if you watch a lot of cable/satellite, a 55" might be a better choice.

I have recently been looking at the x900e Sony. Does it support HDR10 and DV?

I think something was misunderstood. Sony's Dolby Vision update doesn't roll out until mid-January in US, then proceeds to other areas over 4 weeks or so.
Sony merely announced this rollout info this month.

Eventually is one going to win over the other? Meaning HDR10 and DV? Also will the X900e ever receive the update?

Sony stated earlier in the year that the 900e will not get the DV update. It is an issue with the hardware.

gkolb thanks for the correction on the 930e, mine should be delivered next week.

You should notice a difference on 55 but as many have mentioned bigger is better and you will certainly appreciate detail much better on a bigger screen .
