12 Dog Days of Christmas (2014)

Cute movie. Some of the acting mediocre. Not a bad start to this month.

My husband is away till Monday, so I'm alone and should get quite a few movies watched.

Mayhem - ½ (first-time viewing)
If you like hyper-violence and dark humor, this film is for you! It loses a bit of steam in the second half, but it's still a lot of fun.
It's basically The Crazies meets The Belko Experiment - Trapped in a quarantined office building where a virus has caused everyone to go crazy, The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun and The Babysitter's Samara Weaving fight their way to the top floor.
Directed by Joe Lynch, who made Everly, another movie I would definitely recommend. (He also made The Knights of Badassdom, but that movie was disappointing as the released version was a re-edited mess done by the producer after he took it away from Lynch)

Midnight Special (2016)

I was wondering what was going on at first but it was intriguing. The acting was good and it was beautifully photographed. It did leave me with too many questions otherwise I would have ticked it up another 1/2 notch. I will be adding this film to my collection.
