I am utilizing two HDMI inputs #1 for my dvr/cable box and #2 from my Denon 4308 receiver. The Mitsu keeps reassigning the "cable box" designation to a "dvd" designation. Also, and more aggravating, when I want to switch to the receiver input to play a Blu-Ray, the Mitsu keeps switching back and forth between the two HDMI inputs. To resolve this I have to unplug the cable box input until I am finished with the movie. I do not think I should have to do this.......help! Thanks!

You can assign category names to the inputs from the menu. I assigned HDMI #1 the name "cable box" and the set keeps reassigning it the name "dvd player." That is just a mild annoyance. The bigger issue is that it keeps clicking back and forth between the two assigned HDMI inputs when I have them both on, causing me to have to unplug the cable box so that it will stay on the receiver input. Nothing else is connected to the DLP. Thanks.

well, all I can say is that does not sound normal.
Hard solution would be to take back/reservice it... Easy solution would be to connect cable box via component cable to TV...that way you will only be using one HDMI source, so no error switching back and forth? also, cable is 1080i max. No real benefit using HDMI anyway. my thought. ![]() |

Can't you just go direct into the receiver with the cable HDMI? That way you're getting the cleanest path for sound into your sound system anyway.

Also, the sound from cable is stereo garbage and an occasional movie with 5.1, so an optical cable for audio is just as good as the HDMI cable. Its all compressed audio anyway. |
