I'm very excited for this one! It will be great to have this on Blu Ray here in the U.S. as the dvd is now out of print. Pretty good movie actually and Lee is great.

Is this the film that Hammer screwed up by redoing the special f/x when they remastered it a few years ago? If so, hope Scream can undo that damage.

Please, please, please at least include the original cut: a dab of seamless branching would do it. The new fx aren't as distracting as expected despite the grading changes, but it was ridiculously George Lucas of StudioAnal not to include the original on their blu.

I think for many years, Lee said this was his favorite film that he'd been in, at least until The Wicker Man.

It really is one of Hammer's best, and features one of the creepiest moments from any Hammer film ever. You'll know it if you've seen it.

I've never actually seen this, but it's been on my "to watch" list for ages as many rate it as one of the best Hammer films.

My only complaint / worry: I wish it was coming out earlier in October, if they miss the release date or there's a shipping delay, I won't get to see it before Halloween!

I've been waiting a long time now for this day. First saw this on TCM several years ago or so and absolutely loved it! It's my favorite Hammer film. I'm sure Scream will do everything they can to provide both versions, but either way I'm buying this day one for sure.

Cliff from Shout! Factory commented on the Facebook post, and he said that they did a new scan of 20th Century Fox's film elements with the original effects.

I'll have to watch my Anchor Bay DVD again soon to see if I should get this. I watched it once, but don't remember much about it.

Extremely fun movie with a rare heroic role for Lee at Hammer. It would have been great to see the Duc de Richleau become a franchise character, oh well. The newly done FX aren't bad, although as people have said, it's always nice to have the original as an option. I got the UK Studio Canal release years ago, which had some lovely extras, hope Shout gets an equally good package for its release.
