Hello everyone. I have 25 bucks in Best Buy rewards that I need to spend in 4 days. I was thinking of picking up War with Jet Li. I really enjoy Martial Art movies and I am a fan of Jet Li (all the way back to Once Upon a Time in China). So is the sound/video quality on par with what Blu should be? Is the movie good? Lots of cool fight scenes?

Thanks.

Many people did not like the ending or said that it didn't have enough action for what they expected, but I liked it.

I liked it for some of the fight scenes, car chases, scenery and the fact that it has Jason Statham and Jet Li.

Also, it did not hurt that it has top-notch picture and sound quality.

I went out and bought it and really enjoyed it, It had good action and a good twist...if you like Jet Li then you would likely be a fan of the movie!

To be honest its not a movie youd probably like to see more than once, i did not like it, nice twist but the climax was a big let down, i say spend it on some other title.

If you can't, make a decision buy it just don't open it and keep the price tag on it, then try returning it to BB in exchange for something else, or get a gift receipt and return it using the gift receipt.

The movie is really bad. The story and the action sequences are very very poor. The PQ is ok, but not as good as prior Lionsgate releases. I would NOT recommend this.

I completely enjoyed this one. You can see my comments in the reviews section. It had plenty of action and a twisty storyline. I agree that the ending could have been better.

This one really shouldn't be called a martial arts movie. It's Jet Li trying to do an shoot em up action movie like he did with The Body Guard from Beijing. It's like 80% gunplay and 20% martial arts. I think Li kills more people with a gun then he does with his fists. It's better then some of his previous movies like Cradle to the Grave & The One.

I would suggest you pick up a title you know you will want to watch multiple times and you would want to show friends when they come over. This is one movie I don't think would fit the bill. Just my opinion.

It is an ok movie, the two main actors make it watchable.
Has the typical white boy trying to make an asian movie feel with embarrassing caricatures of "yakuza" and "triad" gangs including a laughable bit with what I assume were ninja.
Worth a pick up as a pop corn flick anyway and it has its charm.

I would rather have a handful of Jet Li's movies on DVD before spending 25$ on War on blu. You can buy 2 DVD for that and possibly have change left over.

Or there are better Blu movies. Maybe Hero will come to Blu I am not sure how well his older movies would translate to HD. I would love a nice remastered HD version of Fist of Legend.

This is not a martial arts movie per se, if you're a hardcore Jet Li fan you will be disappointed with the martial arts side of things, because there is just absolutely no comparison to his movies like Fist of Legend or Once Upon A Time In China series. I think of it as more of a modern action movie, lots of gun battles though. If you want it purely for the martial art, then i dont suggest you get it. If you're ok with the typical run of the mill action flick then get it and just have fun and not expect too much of it.

Overall, the action itself was ok, some of the acting was quite bad but at least the PQ and SQ were superb.

It's not what you'd really expect when going to see a movie with Jet Li and Jason Statham, but if you don't go in expecting it to have tons of martial arts action then it's not a bad movie.

***spoiler alert***

Did anyone else think that the twist at the end was too much? I was fine with finding out Jet Li is actually his old partner, but than going even further and showing that jason stathams character was actually working for them was a little to much, IMO. it makes me question the actions of the characters early in the movie, and I do not think they fit anymore....

*******

overall it was an okay movie with good action and PQ. I was not looking for martial arts although I wouldn't mind 'fearless'
