Movie(s) that won't play on your BD player. - Blu-ray Forum

I rented Omega man from Blockbuster and it doesn't play on my Sony S-301 player. The first one was Ladder 49 now it's this one.
I upgraded to the latest firmware. Still doesn't play.
Both disc were brand new with no finger prints on it whatsoever.
Does anybody have problem with disc won't play on your player?

Zero. All play fine on my Panny. Even on my Sony 300. Longer load times, but played everything with no fimware up-dates.

I have th bdp-s300, which I think the only difference is the 301 came with a HDMI cable, but as of yet every disc has played

I have learned this is a very touchy machine, only touch a button once as it has a delayed reaction time.
Load up is slow, and the load times can be lengthy especially on Fox Films

I have a PS3 exclusively for Blu-ray movies, and I haven't inserted a movie yet that has not played.

Ladder 49 wouldn't play on PS3 either so I assume it must be the disc.
Now this one I will try to play it on PS3 if it will give me problem.

I'm aware of the load time which can take awhile on certain disc. But with these two disc I get message saying that cannot play this disc.

That sucks. I really want to watch Omega man before I go to bed.

yeah I think I am going to take my S301 back and get a Panasonic BD30K.

My BDP-S1 has played every movie I've put in it. It has some long ass load times but it still plays them.

I have about 50 movies (Blu ray of course) and a 60gb PS3 and have never had a problem either with any of them
