Count Three and Pray (1955) is scheduled for release by Sony on 25 Sept 2019.

Civil War veteran Luke Fargo (Van Heflin) returns to his home town as a self-ordained minister. Nobody believes his reformation: he is jeered at by Lissy (Joanne Woodward), a gun-toting war orphan; he is pursued by aristocratic Georgina (Allison Hayes), a whip-wielding former flame; and he is welcomed by Selma (Jean Willes), who runs the local gambling hall. Luke fights for his right to be a man of peace and dedicates himself to rebuilding the local church. But will the town accept him as a changed man?

Never heard of it. Not that it doesn't deserve a release, but this is a fairly baffling wave of releases from Sony considering some of the big titles they still haven't released.

I actually saw this in a theater circa 1958, but I was quite young then. I remember liking Joanne Woodward's tomboy performance as Lissy. Of course, I really didn't know who she was.

Her second daughter with Paul Newman is named Lissy, perhaps for this fim?

Just tested it, works OK on a region B player. Also back cover states region ABC.

Thanks! In the meantime I also remembered another Sony MOD title I knew was region free (Troop Beverly Hills) so I assumed it's just not been reported on here as being region free. I ordered it.
I like the looks of the film and love Westerns, hope I enjoy it.
