Default Sum up the War with your best Blu-ray rant

Here's my best sarcastic rant on everything about the war, based on many AVS and other threads of denial that I got tired of reading (thought I'd have a bit of fun with it):
_____________________

"Why would anyone pick Blu-ray when they don't upconvert DVDs, will never do PiP or on-line stuff, no CE manufacturers support them, they are controlled all alone by the evil Sony & no other big companies are involved with the technology, the whole world is going with downloads anyway by the end of this week, and most importantly they have only 2 Movie studios backing them with hardly any selection so you miss out on all the best titles... Plus its a quickly dying technology like Betamax, especially since Warner the key player has announced HD-DVD exclusivity. Also they don't have much disc space so studios have to cut out extras and PCM quality sound tracks just to fit on the disc, and they have a much slower audio/video transfer rate that won't bring us into the future. Not to mention they are so damn cheap, trying to get rid of their PS3's for under $200 in firesales with 12 free movies included just to fool you into thinking they are a good value, and not tell you they will be obsolete within the year.

Don't be fooled, take your hard earned money and invest it wisely on an HD-DVD player instead, that's going to have all the new releases in the future like LOTR trilogy, StarWars, Harry Potter 6 & 7, The Hobbit movies when they come out, etc, not to mention all the Disney movies, etc. Buy HD-DVD now, and don't question it...just Buy Now! Buy Now!

(Edit) Wait now, I made a mistake, sorry I was just in denial in my grief process since the Warner announcement that I spued FUD all over myself and everyone else. I was so brainwashed and can't stop loving HD-DVD and Toshiba and Micrsoft, because Microsoft would never play dirty and have anti-competition policies like Sony does. There I go again, I have it all backwards again. Help me, can I call the new HD-DVD Concierge 1-888-MY HDDVD therapy & grief counselling hotline to help me work through the 5 stages of grief...?

Maybe they can bring me back to reality so that I can once again become a fan of High-Def, instead of having to choose a team or side and dig in as if I have a billion stake in the company...

(Edit2) I called and they helped me through, and now I'm free to not hate Sony anymore. Turns out it wasn't just Sony all along, and that TDK, and a dozen other reputiple companies all have a stake in the BDA for the Blu-ray technology. They worked me through my fear and hate of Blu-ray and now I love high-def all over again instead of just loving HD-DVD/toshiba/microsoft. Also it turns out that everything I thought about Blu-ray not upconverting, or pretty much eveything else I was told and believed blindly, was just not true, but rather the opposite. I'm past my five stages of grief and can now go on with my life of high-def, and finally feel good about investing my money in a decent Blu-ray player that is top quality with Profile 2.0, upconverting, faster audio/video streaming, and all the selection for movies I need. And it comes with a no-going obsolete guarantee, plus all the movies are %30 cheaper than other high-def media formats because of the laws of supply and demand (much higher sales), so in the end I save more on movies, not to mention all the BOGO sales that go on. I think I'll go with the new Panasonic DMP-BD50 Profile 2.0 when it comes out soon (best quality of all players), or their DMP-BD30, or maybe the PS3...?"

The best one is the price issue! The whole " I won't spend $300 on a blu-ray player, but I will pay $2000 on a TV, $1000 on a Receiver, and $1000+ on speakers, but I need my sub standard player because its only $99!

HD DVD is better than a "normal" DVD because of higher bitrate and more capacity... guess what - Blu-ray has higher bitrate and capacity than HD DVD.

Conclusion... OWNED!

Who cares about glitches, pauses, lock-ups, players getting bricked during legitimate firmware updates, expensive Combo discs that don't play right??!?!1111

Blu-ray doesn't have these problems, but I'd never buy an incomplete format like Blu-ray!!11111
HD DUD forevaaaaaa!

Ooh, I must say I'm a little tired to read even parodies of FUD these days...especially since the war is over now. We need to forget about it all and just enjoy our movies...and watch blu-ray grow and compete against regular DVD!
