Default Atom Tickets Launches 'Dump MoviePass' Sweepstakes

Source:THR

Quote:

Online ticket service Atom Tickets has launched a sweepstakes for anyone dumping MoviePass. The winner will receive a year's worth of free movies, valued at $4,380.

Atom — whose owners include Disney, Fox and Lionsgate — announced the contest Tuesday morning as MoviePass' future hangs in the balance.

According to a press release from Atom, "Break-Up Sweepstakes" is designed "to help ease the pain for MoviePass members as the service suffers from repeated technical outages, blockbuster blackouts and an uncertain future."

Anyone can enter the sweepstakes by tweeting a picture of their cut-up MoviePass card to Atom Tickets with the hashtags #MOVIEPAST and #ATOMSWEEPS between now and Aug. 31.

Separately, for this week only, Atom is offering a free ticket to MoviePass subscribers and anyone else once they purchase a ticket on the Atom app.

Atom has its own loyalty program that offers a free movie ticket to any member of Atom Rewards after seeing four movies. Atom services over 20,000 screens across the U.S. The comany's advisory board includes the likes of Steven Spielberg, J.J. Abrams, Tyler Perry and Dwayne Johnson.

I tried Atoms once and looked into it for Sinemia since I'm most likely trying that out, it had all my theaters listed with all the showtimes but all times were greyed out stating "Ticketing is not available at this location ".

Guess they don't support Cinemark's or Premiere Cinemas.

But that was before this.. I didn't know they were owned by Disney, I'm surprised they would allow them to do this.

What a vicious campaign.

Ahh, intersting.

I've never purchased a ticket from Fandango, or even heard of Atom Tickets. Do people actually use those sites?! What's the plus-side to them?

Where you buy tickets online through the app on your phone. Then it send the ticket to your phone. and they scan it.

You don't have to deal with actual physical ticket

Big discounts on tickets through Atom, especially with T-Mobile. Studios also provide BOGO offers through Atom. Atom is the gateway for Amazon Prime paid advanced screenings.

Fandango has been around forever and offers gifts with purchases. They also host free screenings for rewards members.

I’ve used Fandango for years. It’s worth $2 to reserve my seat in advance, especially if it’s something highly anticipated I want to see opening night. No lines. Just walk up, show my barcode, go sit in my seat.

I’ve used Atom a few times. I prefer Fandango because they link to the theater rewards cards and have their own rewards system as well. They also link to Disney movie rewards.

Yeah I was looking into Fandango today, guessing thats what I'll use if I go with Sinemia for the rewards. Seems theirr fees are either $1.50 or $2.00. Which isn't too bad.

Movietickets.com is only $1.00 charge but i don't think they have a rewards program.

I've used Fandango since before they had those silly paper bag ads. Never heard of Atom until this contest.

Now that I signed up for AMC A-List though, I get my tickets in that app. I haven’t been anywhere but AMC since signing up. Still hoping Regal comes out with their own version.
